Freestone County, Texas Obituaries, Memorials, and Death Notices The Fairfield Recorder - Friday, November 3, 1899 Page: 4 OBITUARY Died. Tuesday, Oct. 3rd, 1899, Mra. Mary Cotton, aged 76 years and 5 months. It ia finished! Death’s agonies are over, and life’s fitful fever ended. Tboagh tender, loviDg bands ministered untiringly to her every wants, the burden of life grew too heavy, and ao she laid it down. Her weary feet have crossed the ohill waters of Jordan, aod onr Father took her to bia bosom on the other said. It is not necessary to reoount her virtues. Her pare snd blameless life is a better commentary than any my feeble pen oan write. Tboagh an invalid for several years, her body often racked with pain, her spirit nevet lost its sweet, unsullied faith in her Savior. A heart overflowing with lave for friends and neighbors, she saw no guile in others, but judged them by her own high standard of moral worth. Blessed thought! her sufferings are over, aod though we shall miss her dear face and vainly long for the sound of her loving voice, and sbed many bitter tears when we think of the long weary waiting, yet we know she is at reat in that happy Eden, where the sun never sets, nor the moon wanes. There we shall meet her with all the loved ones gone before. Theirs will be the first voices to greet us, and we will forget all the triala of earth in the perfect happiness of Heaven. “And God aball wipe away all teara from onr eyes, and there aball be no more death neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things shall bavs passed away."
