Freestone County, Texas Obituaries, Memorials, and Death Notices Sandra Lynn (Wills) Covington Sandra Lynn Covington, 71, of Corsicana, was called to her heavenly home on March 4, 2023, in Dallas. She was born on Sept. 4, 1951, in Galveston County to Wilfred (Pete) and Agnes Wills. Sandra graduated from Fairfield High School in 1971, and on Aug. 10, 1973, she married the love of her life, Billy Covington. Sandra was a devoted wife, mother and Nonna. Her family meant everything to her, and nothing made her happier than being surrounded by her kids, grandkids, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She loved a celebration and was always the life of the party with her infectious laugh. She saw the good in everyone, and was always full of love, compassion and encouragement to all. She loved exercising and visiting with friends at the YMCA, walking at the park and shopping. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Venita Wills. She is survived by her husband Billy Covington, son Jeffrey Covington and wife Chelsea, son Jerrod Covington and wife Christy. She leaves behind a brother Sonny Wills and wife Debra, brother Gene Wills and wife Gail, Sister Andrea Lyles and husband Ronnie, her grandchildren: Lawson, Lane, Allie, and Cam Covington; as well as beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Thursday March 9, 2023, at Griffin Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral service was Friday, March 10, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Griffin Roughton with pastor Charky Marquis officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana. Pallbearers will be Jason Hager, Randy Martin, Peter Fox, Clay Wills, Charles Covington and John Spain. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Reeder and Ronnie Lyles.
