Roy D. Cowart

WORTHAM - Graveside services for Roy D. Cowart, 73, of Wortham, were held
Monday morning at 10 o'clock in Cade Cemetery (Navarro County). The Rev. Steve
Schulte, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiated. Porter Funeral Home-Mexia
was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Cowart, born Feb. 3, 1932, in Streetman, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2005. He was
married on Sept. 14, 1950, in Navarro County to Mary Idell Rogers.

Surviving are a son, Jerry Cowart of Mexia; a daughter, Delores Barber of
Wortham; grandsons - Ron Arnold and wife Donna of Mexia, Brian Arnold of
Kerens, Marty Cowart, Jason Cowart and Allen Cowart, all of Genoa City,
Wisconsin; two granddaughters, Lisa Zimmerman of Corsicana and Dana Cowart of
Genoa City, Wisconsin; two great-grandsons, Logan Arnold and Benjamin Taylor,
both of Mexia; two great-granddaughters, Dani Yakesch and Hailey Gilliam, both
of Corsicana; two sisters, Frances Dunn of Robert Lee and Joy Adair of Midland,
and a brother, Troy Cowart of Big Lake.

Mr. Cowart was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Idell Rogers Cowart; by a
son, Little Roy Cowart, Jr., and by a sister, Nell Pollard.
