Mexia Daily News- Jan. 20, 2004 edition Jerry Cox TEAGUE - Funeral services for Jerry Cox, 43, will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Marcus Sheffield, pastor of Mexia First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Cox, who died Sunday at the University of Texas Health Center in Tyler, was born July 13, 1960, and had resided for most of his life in Teague. He was a Baptist and enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking for his friends. Mr. Cox worked as a truck deiver for 21 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Cox, and by a brother, Brian Cox. Surviving are his wife, Elisa Cox of Teague; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Melody Cox of Teague; a daughter, Kristin Cox of Teague; a grandson, Matthew Lee Cox of Teague; his mother, Mary Ann Reeves and step-father, Jerry Reeves of Teague; a brother, Kenneth Cox, Jr., of Plainview; two sisters, Deann Holland of Panama City, Florida, and Laressa Evans of West Palm Beach, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
