Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Teague Chronicle August 13, 2009 edition GALE CROOK Funeral services for Mrs. Gale Crook, 56, were held on Saturday, August 15, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Fairfield. Pastor Ken Pruitt officiated and interment followed the service at Lake Chapel Cemetery near Fairfield. Gale was born to H.P. and Georgia Lancaster in Sonora, Texas on December 29, 1952, and grew up in Dew, Texas. She married Glen Crook on January 29, 1970, and shared almost thirty-eight years together until being separated by his death on January 3, 2008. Together with her husband, they owned and operated Glen Crook's Garage in Fairfield for many years. After the garage closed, she went to work for Parker Auto Parts in Fairfield and remained there for twelve years. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, especially playing horseshoes and volleyball. Mrs. Crook was a Methodist. She passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2009, in Fairfield. Mrs. Crook was preceded in death by her husband Glen Crook; her son Stephen Dewayne Crook; her grandson Colby Carroll Stark and her parents. She is survived by her sons James Glen Crook, Jr. and wife Joyce, Obie Wayne Crook and wife Terra, all of Fairfield, and Dennis Paul Crook and wife Amber of Jewett; her daughters Stephanie Gale Crook and Jai Johnson and Crystal Michelle Crook and Brandon Vail, all of Fairfield; thirteen grandchildren; her brothers Allen Lancaster and wife Pat of Granbury, Rusty Lancaster and wife Terry of Carthage, and Dewey Lancaster and wife Debbie of Dew; her sister Kay Russell of Teague; her brother-in-law Gary Crook and wife April of Fairfield; her sister-in-law Sandra Long of Teague; numerous other relatives and friends.
