Freestone County, Texas Obits Mexia Daily News - October 11, 2006 edition James David Curry Funeral services for James David Curry, 71, of Mexia, will be Thursday afternoon, October 12, 2006, at 2 o’clock in Lake Limestone Baptist Church. The Rev. Johnny Layton will officiate, with interment following in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be this evening, Wednesday, from 5 until 7 o’clock in Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Thornton. Mr. Curry was born on September 28, 1935, in Teague to John David and Lucille Fife Curry, and passed away on October 9, 2006, in Waco. He was a pawn shop owner and member of the Lake Limestone Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mable Lene Curry; a daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Richard Hawthorn of Mexia; sons - Rick Young and wife Becky Mills Young of Gordonville, and Steve Young and wife Kim Young of LaPorte; grandchildren - Kelly Harrison, Robin Sterling, Randi Hawthorn, Jaime Young, Lana Young, Shaina Young, Justin Young and Dylan Young; a nephew, Chris Curry of Florida; and two brothers - Doyle Curry of Marshall and Sandy Curry of Aurora, Colorado. Pallbearers are Jerry Don Chilcoat, Johnny Brady, Gene Campbell, Harvey Vogel, Sammy Franklin and Donnie Hinchliffe.
