Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Freestone County Times - Feb 24, 2009 - Page 6-B Doyle Daniel Doyle Daniel, 84, of Fairfield passed away on Friday, February 20, 2009 at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield. He was born in Dew on November 17, 1924 to Elbert Daniel and Thelma Bradshaw Daniel. He served his country in World War II in the U.S. Army. Doyle retired from the truck driving industry traveling the 48 states and Alaska, and the construction business. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge as a 32ND Degree Mason and enjoyed raising cattle. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Elbert and Thelma Daniel and a son Doyle “Bubba” Daniel. Survivors include his wife Neta Daniel of Fairfield; Children: Kay Turner and husband Randy of Fairfield; son, Mike Daniel of Fairfield and one brother Dewayne Daniel of Dew. Grandchildren: Tina Williams and husband Jason, Byron Turner, Mika Daniel, and Cooper Daniel, and one great grandchild Brady Williams. Visitation was held on Sunday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Fairfield. Funeral services were held on Monday, February 23, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Keathley of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial followed at Fairfield City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Jackie Farish, Willie Nelson, Albert Lehman, Roy Patterson, Hubie Fryer and Sid Fryer. DANIEL Funeral services were held for Doyle M. Daniel, 84, of Fairfield who died Friday, Feb. 20, at Fairfield East Texas Medical Center. Mr. Daniel also worked as a rancher raising cattle. Services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 23, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Fairfield with Rev. Paul Kethley of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial followed at Fairfield Cemetery with Jackie Farish, Willie Nelson, Albert Lehman, Roy Patterson, Hubie Fryer and Sid Fryer serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers included Victor Marcum, Willie Slack and Asa Pickett.
