Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Betty Jo Daniel Betty Jo Daniel, 89, of Kerrville, TX was called home on Monday, September 16, 2012 at her residence. Betty was born in Walnut Creek, AR on November 22, 1923 to Otto Roscoe Hunt and Clara (Manning) Hunt. Betty grew up in Kerrville and Hunt, TX. After graduation from Kerrville’s Tivy High School, she went on to serve in the U.S. Army during World War II as a nurse. On November 1, 1944, Betty married Walton S. Daniel Jr. and they enjoyed 60 wonderful years together. Shortly after marriage, Walt and Betty moved to Fairfield, TX for Walt’s career. During her time in Fairfield, Betty was the director of nursing at Freestone County Hospital. In 1995, Betty returned to Kerrville, where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. At church, Betty sang in the choir, helped with Sunday school and was on the communion committee. Betty was the rock of the family, a strong Christian woman who would always find the good in everyone. Betty is preceded in death by her husband Walt Daniel; parents, Otto and Clara Hunt; daughter, Leigh Blevins; granddaughter, Michelle Nicole Daniel and all of her brothers and sisters. Survivors include her son Mike Daniel and wife Sheryl of Boerne, TX; daughter, Jill Ratliff and husband Rodney of Kerrville, TX; along with seven grandsons and seven great-grandchildren. A visitation and time of reflection was held at Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Hwy, Kerrville, TX on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 6-8 PM. Funeral Services were held at 11 AM, Friday, September 20, 2013 at First United Methodist, Kerrville, TX with the Rev. Bob Allen officiating. Interment followed at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Kerrville, TX.
