Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Fairfield Recorder October 28, 2007 Henry Edward Davenport Funeral services were held last weekend for Henry Davenport, 73, of Teague who died Wednesday, Oct. 17 in his residence. Mr. Davenport graduated from Baylor University and attended Southwestern Baptist Seminary. He served as Pastor at Altoga Baptist Church and Valdasta Baptist Church, both in McKinney, First Baptist Church in Atkins, Ark., Emmanuel Baptist Church in Weatherford, First Baptist Church in Norphlet, Ark. and First Baptist Church in Teague. Mr. Davenport also served as chaplain for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for nearly ten years. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20 at Eighth Avenue Baptist Church with Ron Jenkins, Darrel Beggs and Steve Cowart officiating. Internment followed at Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Davenport is survived by wife Allene Davenport; the mother of his children Artie Davenport; sons Judson Davenport and Trozy Davenport and wife Melissa; grandchildren Stephen, Becca, and Ashley Davenport of Teague; stepsons Wade Smith and wife Lauren of Paris, Troy Smith and wife Christal of Teague and Adam Smith and wife Misty of Teague; step-grandchildren, Stephen Smith, Cameron Smith, Grayson Smith, Michaela Smith, Madison Smith, Kaylee Smith, Audrie Smith, Kendall Smith, Sydney Smith, Piper Smith and Declan Smith; brothers-in-law John Christian and wife Jerry of Teague and Charles Rikard of Kirvin; and sisters- in-law Earlene Robertson and husband Bobby of Fairfield and Debbie Carter and husband Fred of Lake Limestone.
