Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Freestone County Times June 2, 2009 Issue Page: 10-B Lewis Ray Davis, Jr. Funeral services for Mr. Lewis Ray (Lewy) Davis, Jr., 35, were held on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at River of Life Family Worship Center in Fairfield. Bro. Bobby Rutherford officiated. Interment was held on Thursday at Davis Memorial Cemetery in Columbia, Kentucky. Visitation was held on Monday from 6:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at River of Life Family Worship Center in Fairfield. Mr. Davis passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2009, in an automobile accident near Teague. He was born and raised in Rensselaer, Indiana, but moved to Columbia, Kentucky and lived there for several years before moving to Texas where he had lived near Donie for just over two years. Lewy worked as a heavy equipment operator at the mine near Kosse. He loved horses and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Davis was a member of River of Life Family Worship Center in Fairfield. He is survived by his wife, Mikki S. Davis and one son, Cody Davis both of Donie; father, Lewis Ray Davis, Sr. of Columbia, Kentucky; father and mother-in-law, Gilbert and Nancy Oliver of Freestone; three sisters, Shelly Davis of Columbia, Kentucky, Wendy Dafcik & husband Emil of Remington, Indiana, and Stephanie Joseph & husband Brandon of Rensselaer, Indiana; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Odle Davis. ================================= Fairfield Recorder newspaper June 4, 2009 Lewis Ray "Lewy" Davis, Jr. Funeral services were held Tuesday for Lewis Ray "Lewy" Davis, Jr., 35, of Donie who died Sunday, May 31, the result of an automobile accident near Teague. Mr. Davis was born and raised in Rensselaer, Indiana. He later moved to Columbia, Kentucky where he stayed for several years before moving once again to Donie. He worked as a heavy equipment operator at the mine near Kosse and spent his free time hunting, fishing, and working with horses. Services were held Tuesday at Fairfield's River of Life Family Worship Center where Mr. Davis was a member. The services were officiated by Bobby Rutherford. Interment will be held Thursday at Davis Memorial Cemetery in Columbia, Kentucky. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Mikki S. Davis of Donie; son, Cody Davis of Donie; father, Lewis Ray Davis, Sr. of Columbia, Kentucky; father and mother-in- law, Gilbert and Nancy Oliver of Freestone; and sisters, Shelly Davis of Columbia, Kentucky, Wendy Dafcik and husband Emil of Remington, Indiana, and Stephanie Joseph and husband Brandon of Rensselaer, Indiana.
