  Elsie Marie (Davis) Davis
  August 8, 1929 - September 1, 2022

  Elsie Marie Davis, 93 of Mexia, passed away on September 1, 2022 at the Mexia 
LTC. Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 5, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. 
at Mexia Cemetery.  No visitation will be held.  
  Mrs. Davis was born on August 8, 1929 in Teague, Texas to L.A. & Nannie Plummer 
Davis.  She met the love of her life, Wade, on a blind date 65 plus years ago and 
they married on November 27, 1956 at Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague.  
Wade was her whole heart and took very good care of her.  She was a devoted house 
wife and homemaker and a seamstress.  She also made and collected dolls.   
  Elsie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wade; parents L.A. & Nannie 
Davis; sister, Dorothy Dale and niece, Sarah Markey.  Survivors include her niece, 
Carolyn Hathaway of Silsbee, Texas; sister-in-law, Terra Davis of Fred, Texas; 
nieces, Patricia Faltesek of Dickinson, Texas and Aline Graham of Lumberton, 
Texas; nephews, Bobby Joe Davis of Warren, Texas and Wade Alan Davis of Silsbee, 
Texas; sister-in-law, Thelma Pope of Teague, Texas; special friends, Nancy & Bill 
Davis of Nacogdoches, Texas; as well as her beloved & faithful dog, B.J.
