Frank Lawrence Davis

Mr. Frank Lawrence Davis, 78, of Mexia, Texas passed away peacefully in the 
Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia on June 15, 2006. Viewing and visitation 
is today, Wednesday, June 21, 2006, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Moore’s 
Angelic Funeral Home, Teague.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 22, 2006, at 12 noon in the Sweet
Home Missionary Baptist Church, 311 North Baker Street, Mexia, Texas, with the 
Rev. Byron Ravnell and the Rev. R. H. Bollin officiating. Interment will be in 
the Woodland Cemetery.

Mr. Davis was born on February 17, 1928, in Rice, Texas, to Felix Davis and 
Frankie A. Sanders. He worked in the fields of his grandfather, Frank Sanders, 
and later was employed by Dr. and Mrs. Goolsby on Ross Avenue in Mexia. He 
graduated from Dunbar High School, Mexia, in 1945, and moved to Dallas, Texas 
where he worked at the Baker Hotel. His skill in culinary Arts and Bartending 
were developed, and he entered the catering business.

Frank moved to Oklahoma City first and then to Chicago where he received his 
Barber-Beauty License. He taught cosmetology in the California School District 
and opened his own Barber-Beauty Shop.

He grew up in the Sweet Home Baptist Church, Mexia; and became an active member
of The Greater Ebenezer M. B. Church, Los Angeles where Dr. Solomon Drake is 
now pastor. He loved Sunday School and served for years as Record Keeper of his
class, and was a Life Member of the NAACP.

TX; AUNTS: Hazel Sanders McWilliams, Ft. Worth, TX; Sara Sanders Washington, 
Dallas, TX; UNCLE: Charlie Sanders (Grace), Odessa, TX; NIECES: Stephanie 
Carlotta Smith (James), Mexia, TX; LuWanza Thomas Gamble (Charles), Lewisville,
TX; Lori Dynes, Okland, CA; Lynell Dynes Bryant (Charles) Alta Dena, CA; 
Rochelle Dynes Mills (Jeff) Los Angeles, CA; Brandi of Ft. Worth, TX;
