Freestone County, Texas Dallas Morning News on 4/19/2006: Alice Mae (Butcher) Dillard Was born February 29, 1918 in Freestone County, Texas to the parentage of Rev. R.C. and Consula Carter Butcher. She attended Shiloh School in Kirvin, Texas and Dunbar High School in Mexia, Texas. She later moved to Dallas, Texas where she was employed by Dallas Independent School District and also became a member of the Greater St. John Primitive Baptist Church. Alice was a founding member of the Down Home Girls wherein she performed many acts of kindness. She was called to rest on April 10, 2006. Her father, mother, three brothers, and two sisters preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband; Elijah Dillard; sisters; Velma Ceasar, and Joyce Doss(Shannon); brothers; Arthur Butcher(Jean), Quincy Butcher (Kim), Elmer Butcher, Clarence Butcher, Aunt Bessie Carter Fowler and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
