JOHN W. Dixon

John William Dixon, 78 for a number of years caretaker at the Fourpine School,
died at 7:45 a.m. today at his home on the Salt work road.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hassell & Foster Chapel
by the Rev. Robert Dean., pastor of Holmes Chapel Methodist church, Burial will
be in Broyles Chapel Cemetery...........

Born in Freestone County 22 Dec 1877, to the late Thomas Jefferson and Mary
Frances Humphries Dixon, he was formally foreman for the Palestine Salt
Works.......

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Belle Nicholson Dixon ; two sons, J.W. Of
Baytown and T.J. Dixon of corpus Christi; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Scott of
Victoria; four grandchildren, John and Marty Lou Scott and Sue and Douglas
Dixon and a number of nieces and nephews....
