Freestone County, Texas Obituaries [This is Lewis Charles Dockery May 4, 1886 - Apr 28, 1946] FUNERAL SERVICES MONDAY AFTERNOON FOR L.C. DOCKERY L. C. Dockery, aged 59 years, died at the family home 717 West Seventh avenue Sunday. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the Corley Funeral Home. Burial was in the Hamilton cemetery. The rites were conducted by Rev. E. F. Bohmfalk, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Born at Fairfield, Texas, May 4, 1886, Dockery had been a resident of Corsicana for many years. He formerly was connected with the sales department of the American Well and Prospecting Company and was employed at a Dallas war plant during World War II. Surviving are his wife of Corsicana, five brothers, George Dockery, Navarro; Ernest and Houston Dockery, both of Houston, Silas Dockery, Levelland, and Lee Dockery, Ranger, and two sisters, Miss Mattie Belle Dockery, Ranger, and Miss Bettie Dockery, Louisiana. Pallbearers were Sidney Strength, Brown Spear, G.H. Bailey, C. G. Hatley, E.W. Hayes, George Bush, Sid Story, Charles Byrd and T. A. Farmer.
