Jesse Richard Dodson

Jesse Richard Dodson, 95, of Wortham, passed away on January 12, 2011 at his 
residence.  Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 
12:00 p.m. at Wortham Cemetery with Rev. Jay Fraze, officiating.  Family 
visitation will be held from 10 to 11:45 a.m., prior to the service, at 
Porter Chapel in Wortham. 

Mr. Dodson was born on November 19, 1915 in Leonard, Texas to Roy and Una 
Henry Dodson.  Jesse was a farmer in his younger years and during the war, 
evolved into a machinist and very skilled woodworker and cabinet maker.  He 
also was a maker of fine furniture until his health declined.  He was a 
resident of Wortham for 22 years, the birthplace of his beloved wife, Faye, 
where they also became members of the Methodist Church.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Ruby Faye Dodson, of Wortham; sons, Bill 
Dodson & wife, DeQuita, of Longview and Jim Dodson & wife, Susie, of Granbury;
step-son, Lewis Calame & wife, Linda, of Wortham; grandsons, Jason Dodson & 
wife, Margaret of Longview and Jeff Dodson & wife, Sara, of Flower Mound; 3 
great grandchildren; six sisters and two brothers.
