Bro. Cleatus Hall will officiate. Interment will follow the services on Friday at Woodland Cemetery, near Kirvin. Ollie Mae Dole was born Ollie Mae Harris on January 24th, 1923, at the family home in Denison TX, to Daucy and Daisy Harris. One of 14 children, Ollie was the oldest of six girls – and the beloved sister of eight boys. Ollie left this earth for her heavenly home on Friday, April 1, 2011. Ollie grew up in Denison and attended Denison High School, riding the bus to school with her brothers and sisters, paying good attention to the rules of the bus driver (her dad!). She loved her family and spent her youth playing and working right there in Denison. She could be seen at various times cruising Main Street in her Ford. Ollie was a wonderful sister and had a wonderful sense of humor. Ollie was first married to Bob Johnson, her beloved, who was killed on the shores of Guam during WWII just one month after enlisting. She then married Paul Wells and together they had three children, Lynn, Paula & Greg. That marriage ended and several years later she met her soul mate and husband of nearly forty years, Chuck Dole, who helped raise her children and showed her the love and devotion she deserved. Chuck and Ollie moved to Alaska and resided there for many years thriving in the beautiful community of Anchorage. Eventually they returned to the lower forty-eight settling in Teague, TX. Ollie worked most of her life in office administration and bookkeeping and was a very valuable employee. When not working she enjoyed eating out with Chuck, playing scrabble & dominoes but was always ready to break for a cup of good coffee and coconut cream pie! Ollie was a sweet spirit – kind, thoughtful, supportive and feisty are only a few words that describe her temperament. The love and devotion she had for her family was unconditional. Ollie Mae suffered the loss of her husband Chuck, and both of her daughters, Lynn & Paula. She is survived by her only son, Greg Wells of Teague; son-in-law, Ray Neilson of Teague; her grandchildren, Bridgette, Chad, Chucky, Dee Dee, Heather and Jenny & their families; two sisters, Faye Toner of Santa Clarita, California and Jane Corr & husband Elbert of Gering, Nebraska; one sister-in- law,Barbara Harris; and a long list of adoring nieces and nephews and their families. ================================== The Fairfield Recorder - April 7, 2011 edition OLLIE MAE DOLE Funeral services will be held Friday beginning at 3 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague for Ollie Mae Dole, 88, of Teague who died last Friday.
