Freestone County, Texas Obituaries [J.R. DuBose] Fairfield Recorder December 16, 2010 J.R. DUBOSE Graveside services will be held Friday at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston for J.R. DuBose, 92, formerly of Winkler who died Dec. 9. DuBose was born April 17, 1918 to Clark and Myrtle DuBose. He served in the U.S. Army under General Patton during World War II and received an honorable discharge Dec. 29, 1945. DuBose was a deacon Emeritus and charter member of River Oaks Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school for many years. He owned and operated restaurants in Houston, Tel-Wink Grill, Centruy Coffee Shop and Adobie Grill in Toas, NM. DuBose was preceded in death by his wife LaVaughn (Bonnie) DuBose. He is survived by his son Louise Lobit DuBose; sister Marilyn LaRouax and husband Richard, three nieces; great nieces and nephews; and cousins. Officiating services will be the Rev. Martun Miley. Making arrangements is Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to River Oaks Baptist Church Mission Fund.
