From Antioch Notes:  May 18, 1891

DIED

At his residence 7 miles east of Fairfield, May 10th, 1891, Mr. J. D. Dunbar, 
age 83 years, 2 mos. and 17 days.  The deceased was born in North Carolina, 
Feb. 23, 1808.  He moved with his parents to Kentucky and from thence to 
Alabama and came to Texas with his family in 1858 and settled in Freestone 
County.  He was a man who had many friends and but few enemies and in all his 
business transactions his word was his surety.  He leaves to mourn his loss 
an aged wife and five children, besides grandchildren and friends. His 
remains were interred in Antioch Cemetery [at Turlington].  Peace to his ashes.
