Fairfield Recorder - Friday, February 12, 1926 NEGRO KILLED SUNDAY AFTERNOON Ed Dunk, a negro, well known in this section, was shot and instantly killed last Sunday afternoon on the MCINNIS farm two miles west of Fairfield. Examining trial of Rich MARTIN, another negro, was held here Monday before Justice VAUGHAN charged with the killing. MARTIN claimed the shooting was in self defense. He was released on the appearance bond of $2500. Dunk was shot four times. The weapon used, an automatic pistol.
