Mrs. Agnes Echols, a well known lady of our county, died last Friday at the 
residence of her son, Mr. Moses Echols, near Brewer, and her remains were 
interred next day in the Salem church cemetery. She was born in Virginia 1804, 
moved to Tennessee 1829, and to this county in 1859, where she resided till her 
death. She was the widow of the late Mr. Champion Echols, who died some years 
ago, and was one of the old settlers of Freestone. She leaves many friends and 
relatives who will be sorry to learn of her death. She had been in feeble 
health a long time and her demise was not unexpected. The deceased was the 
mother of Mrs. J. A. Hendrix, near town.
