Freestone County, Texas Obits Fairfield Recorder - Thursday, September 28, 2006 Frankie Jean (Black) Emmons Funeral services were held Sunday in Fairfield for Frankie Jean Emmons, 79, of Fairfield who died Friday, September 22 in Fairfield. Mrs. Emmons was born May 19, 1927 in Cotton Valley, Louisiana to Rufus Black and Mattie Lee Godfrey Black. She married Ben Emmons on Christmas Eve of 1988. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. at Capps Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Terry Skinner officiating. Burial was at Fairfield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bradley Anderson, Don Tolar, Curtis Red, Don Welch, Clois "Buddy" Mullen and Charles Phillips. Mrs. Emmons is survived by her husband, Ben Emmons; a son, John Gilliam, Jr.; a daughter, Susan Gilliam Arney; a step-daughter, Bennie Jean White and husband Tommy; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
