Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Teague Chronicle - Feb 22, 2007: LIBBY CORENE ENGLISH Funeral services for Libby Corene English were held on Friday, February 16, 2007, at Mr. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Fairfield, Texas. Rev. E.A. Anderson, Pastor and Rev. Lee James Keeton, Sr. conducted the services. Burial was at Fairfield Methodist Cemetery in Fairfield. Mrs. English was born on June 13, 1915, in Freestone, Texas, to Jim and Pinkie Allen. She married Clinton English, Sr. and to this union nine children were born. Two sisters and one son preceded her in death. Mrs. English passed away on February 11, 2007, in Dallas, Texas. She is survived by her sister Laura Keaton Woodward of Corsicana, her brother Berry Allen and wife Lillian of Dallas, her sons James Mack English and wife Annie of Dallas, Lee Alvin English and wife Annie of Dallas, Howard Lee English of Fairfield, Woodrow English and wife Chrysandra of Fairfield, her daughters Corene Tatum and husband James of Dallas, Gloria Wade of Houston, Pamela Darlene Betts of Dallas, Delois Dials and husband Ralph of Fairfield, 33 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was a member of New Hope Church of God In Christ which later became Hemphill Temple Church of God In Christ. She moved to Dallas, where she was a member of Wheatly Church of God In Christ. She was a Sunday school teacher, the Mother of the Church and was respected and well known by everyone. She was a loving and devoted mother. Pallbearers for Mrs. English were Damone English, Darian English, Willie Tatum, Craig Tatum, Vincent Tatum and Bobbie Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were James Mack English, Woodrow English, James Tatum, Lee Alvin English, Howard English and Ralph Dials. Zion Baptist Church, located at 700 W. Feeder Rd. in Fairfield. Burial will follow in Fairfield Methodist Cemetery under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home, Teague. Mrs. English died Sunday in Dallas.
