Mary Emma English

Funeral services were held last month for Mary Emma English, 85, of Carthage 
who died Wednesday, Dec. 19.

Mrs. English was born in Nacogdoches on March 19, 1922 and taught fifth grade
at Galena Park in Houston.

She later married Raymond English and was a devoted member of Wood Forest 
Presbyterian church.

Services were held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20 at Sunset Memorial Park 
Cemetery in Nacogdoches.

Mrs. English is survived by stepson Jimmy English of Fairfield; step
granddaughter Mary Opal Lucas; stepmother Louise Burk of Carthage; and special 
friend and caregiver Johnnie Mason Harrison of Carthage.

She is preceded in death by husband Raymond English.
