Mrs. Ella Bonner 
Dies Monday 11:30  [May 18]
   Mrs. Ella Steele Bonner, 69 year old pioneer of Mexia and vicinity, died at
   11:30 am at her home at 602 North Ross Avenue, and will be buried Tuesday
   afternoon in the Wortham city cemetery.  Mrs. Bonner, a widow for many
   years, lived at the Steele family home place, faithful to her church and her
   friends.  She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Rev. E. H.
   Hudson of that congregation will officiate at the funeral at the home
   Tuesday at 2:30 pm.
    Surviving are her sister, Mrs. Emma Wright, and one brother, Robert Steele.
    Mrs. Bonner was many years ago a Sunday school teacher at old Oak Island,
    near Cotton Gin, where the family lived.  J. I. Riddle, who remembers Mrs.
    Bonner as his first Sunday school teacher, was the undertaker in charge.
