Mexia Daily News - Jan. 19, 2005 edition Kenneth Ethridge Funeral services for Kenneth D. Ethridge, 72, of Mexia, will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock in Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Union Cemetery (Freestone County). Mr. Ethridge, born Sept. 27, 1932, in Marlin, died Tuesday in a Houston hospital. He worked for 35 years as a longshoreman, loading ships out of Houston. Mr. Ethridge, who served in the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard, was preceded in death by three brothers - Willie Frank, J.B. an Johnny Ethridge, and by two sisters, Trudy and Marie. Visitation with the family is scheduled for Thursday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at the funeral home. Surviving are his wife, Kimberly Ann Ethridge of Mexia; children - Judith Ethridge of Bacliff and Janice Ethridge of Alvin, Jessie and Jennifer Lozano of LaPorte; a granddaughter - Allyssa Alexander of Bacliff; and two brothers, Tommy Ethridge of Fairfield and William Ethridge of Kirvin. Pallbearers are Bruce Embrey, John Finley, David Johnson, W.R. McSwane, Fred Russell and Dale Welch. Designated as honorary pallbearers are Tubby Morton and Buckwheat Morton.
