Fairfield Recorder - Friday, February 26, 1926 ANOTHER NEGRO KILLED LAST WEEK Buster FELIX col., aged about 30, was shot and instantly killed last Friday morning by Lem HENDERSON col. on HENDERSONs place about seven miles southwest of Fairfield. One charge of No. 4 shot causing instant death. As reported, FELIX, brother of HENDERSONs wife, was afflicted with spells during which time his mind seemed to be affected. The night before the killing he stayed with the HENDERSONs. On arising in the morning he began to curse and abuse HENDERSONs wife and attacked her with a stick. On HENDERSONs interfering, he struck him and tried to get the shot gun. HENDERSON beat him to it and ran out of the house with the gun. FELIX followed him with a piece of iron and the shooting took place. HENDERSON was released on bond to await the action of the grand jury.
