Fairfield Recorder, Fairfield Texas Friday, June 5, 1925 FORMER FAIRFIELD BOY KILLED IN TRAIN WRECK L. H. TARBUTTON, 63, enginner and Frank H. GRIFFITH, fireman of Sunshine Special were killed at 8:10 Thursday evening, three miles from Longview when the engine and most of the cars left the track at a curve with a ten foot enbankment. A negro woman was also killed and a number of passengers wounded. The train was late and was running fast to make up lost time when the accident occured. Frank GRIFFITH is survived by his wife who is the daughter of Mrs. Mary JAMESON, a former resident of Fairfield and he was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. W. M. GRIFFITH. He was born and reared in Fairfield. Frank would soon be promoted as engineer and he was well known and popular in Palestine. He was of a witty and cheerful disposition and had the happy faculty of making and holding friends.
