In 1946, W.E. and Reppie Griffin established Griffin Funeral Home on the corner 
of West 5th Avenue and North 14th Street in Corsicana. Today the grandson 
William (Bill) Griffin Roughton and his wife Linda Roughton. In 1981 Griffin 
Funeral home acquired the funeral home in Blooming Grove, and in 1985 Bill and 
Linda Roughton built Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana at 1530 North 
45Th street. 

W.E. Griffin was proud of the new funeral home that was built, and he was there 
every day until his death in 1987. In 2000 Bill and Linda Roughton built 
Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Fairfield at 450 East Main street to serve the 
people of Fairfield and Freestone County.

Today Mr. and Mrs. Griffins great grandson William (Billy) Griffin Roughton II 
and wife Tina Territo Roughton serving as funeral directors at both Corsicana 
and Fairfield.
