Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Mrs. Jacquelyn Venise (Craig) Gabriel The Angelic Hosts came for Mrs. Jacquelyn Gabriel, 49, on Monday, January 13, 2014 at the East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield, Texas among loving family and devoted friends. A Viewing was held Friday, January 17, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM at Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home, 406 Monroe Street, Teague, Texas. Funeral Services were Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 1:00 PM in Jones Chapel United Methodist Church, 360 Church Street, Fairfield, Texas. Rev. O. L. Leveston, Pastor, New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Fairfield, Texas served as Eulogist and Rev. Cleo High, Pastor, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Mexia, Texas officiated. Interment followed at New Zion Cemetery, 371 FM 1580, Fairfield, Texas. Jacquelyn Venise Craig Gabriel, known as “Jackie”, was the second child born to Jack and Barbara Craig on December 29, 1964 in Mexia, Texas. Jackie confessed her life to Christ at an early age at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized by the late Rev. Troy Sparks. Jackie graduated from Mexia High School in 1983 and received the LVN certification from Navarro School of Nursing in 1984. Jackie worked for Mexia State Supported Living Center as an LVN and later UTMB in Teague, Texas, and was employed at Teague Nursing Home until her health failed. Jackie met and married Aubrey Gabriel, Sr. in Fairfield, Texas and to this union, one child was born: Aubrey Gabriel, Jr. She also had her first-born, Chauncey Moore, Jr. Upon marrying Aubrey Gabriel, Sr., she later moved her membership to New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Fairfield, Texas and was a faithful member and served as an Usher. Jackie, whose favorite color was pink, was a dedicated Mother and Wife who enjoyed spending quality time with her family. She loved reading, especially romance novels, cooking, and watching sports. She was a “Texas” fan and loved the Texas Rangers, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Dallas Mavericks. Proceeding her in death are; Paternal Grandparents: Algie and Cora Lee Craig; and Maternal Grandmother: Willie Mae Kirven. Jackie will be missed by all. Those that she leaves to cherish her memory are: her Husband: Aubrey Gabriel, Sr., Fairfield, TX; her Sons: Chauncey Moore, Jr. and Aubrey Gabriel, Jr., both of Fairfield, TX; her Granddaughter: Chyreva “Re Re”, Palestine, TX; her Parents: Jack and Barbara Craig, Mexia, TX; three Sisters: Kathy Dawkins and husband Tommie; Batrina Gillespie and husband Lloyd; Toby Craig and Ira, all of Mexia, TX; her Father-In-Law and Mother-In Law: Elawrence and Wanda Gabriel, Fairfield, TX; two Special Cousin/Sisters: Benita Bennett and Pleshia Haynes; and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Family, and Friends.
