FAIRFIELD — Services will be at noon Tuesday at the Jones Chapel Methodist Church 
in Fairfield for Mrs. Virlee Gafney, 65, native of Freestone County who died 
Friday. She was a resident of Corsicana. The Rev. Thermon Taylor will officiate, 
with burial following at Rhode Island Cemetery in Freestone County. Arrangements 
are with Scott Funeral Home in Corsicana. 

Survivors include her husband, Rafer Gafney of Corsicana: two daughters, Mrs. 
Uniloyd Sanders of Dallas and Mrs. Vera Roberts of Fort Worth; five sons, Joe 
Rafer Gafney of Corsicana, Willie Clyde Gafney of District Heights, Md., Charles 
Lee Gafney of Frankfurt, Germany, Wilson Gafney of Lexington, Ky., and Sherman 
Lee Gafney of Raleigh, N.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Mizellia Packard of Corsicana, 
Mrs. Mary Richards of Fort Worth and Gertrude Rischer of Streetman; five 
brothers, Lloyd Rischer, Jo Columbus Rischer, and Eunice Rischer, all of Streetman, 
Herman Rischer of Fort Worth and Melvin Rischer of Los Angeles, Calif., seven 
grand-children, a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Pallbearers 
will be nephews.
