Monroe Edwin Gehrels

Monroe Edwin Gehrels, 103, of Mexia passed way Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001 in
Mexia. 

Services will be 3 p.m. today at Grace Tabernacle in Mexia with Bro. Bo Davis
and Mr. Gerald Lynn DeBorde officiating. Interment will follow at Dew Cemetery
in Dew. 

Pallbearers will be grandsons. 

Mr. Gehrels was born Oct. 25, 1897 in Malone. He was a farmer and rancher and a
member of the Lutheran church. 

He was preceded in death by two sons, Wilbert C. Gehrels and William E.
Gehrels; and two wives, Barney Gehrels and Aline Gehrels. 

Mr. Gehrels is survived by two daughters, Dott DeBorde of Pearland and Betty
Clary of Dew.
