Freestone County Obituaries Fairfield Recorder - August 19, 1904 Death of W. L. Glazener Sr. County Clerk of Freestone County Passed Away Last Saturday The many friends of County Clerk W. L. Glazener will regret to learn of his death, from consumption, which occured Saturday evening, Aug. 13, at the home of his son, Lee Glazener, in the Post Oak community, three miles east of Fairfield. We will not attempt to write a long superfluous obituary of deceased-his life speaks for him-a Christian gentleman, being a member of the M. E. church; a member of the Fairfield Masonic Lodge; a good neighbor and a kind and loving father, he will ever live in the memory of those who were fortunate to be numbered as his friends. W. L Glazener was born in North Carolina, July 8, 1846, moved to Walker county, Ga., when quite young, and residing here until his death. Mr. Glazener was elected County Clerk in 1900, was re-elected in 1902. He made the county an efficient officer until the ravages of disease forced him to cease work. Deceased leaves three children, E. R. and Lee Glazener, residing in and near Fairfield, and Mrs Sallie Walker, who lives in Jones county. His remains were interred in Post Oak community, Rev. J. A. Chavers held religious services, after which the Masons took charge of the remains, and buried them with the beautiful and impressive Masonic burial service. A large crowd of friends from Fairfield and other places were present. ============================================ Fairfield Recorder -October 7, 1904 [there is a long tribute by Masons.
