Maria (Munoz) Gomez
September 3, 1957 - April 12, 2025

Graveside services for Maria Gomez were held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 
11:00 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague.

Father Matias Rodriguez officiated.

Mrs. Gomez passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Skilled Care of Mexia 
Nursing Home.

Maria shared almost fifty-eight years of marriage with her husband Juan and lived 
in Mexia, Teague, and Fairfield since 1974. She was a true animal lover and 
enjoyed raising and feeding cows, chickens, her dogs and cats. One of her favorite 
things to do was attend quinceaneras and go dancing. She especially loved country 
western dancing and music. Mrs. Gomez was a member of the Catholic Faith.

She is survived by her husband, Juan Gomez of Fairfield; one son, Jesus Gomez & 
wife Stacy; three grandchildren, Jacob Gomez, Haley Gomez, and Harley Gomez; her 
father, Ernesto Villa Munoz; three sisters, Elena Gonzales, Patricia Villa, and 
Monica Villa; two brothers, Ray Villa and Eduardo Villa; numerous nieces, nephews, 
other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Gomez was preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia Gomez; her mother; 
Maria Luisa Villa; one sister, Juanita Montano; and one brother, Ricky Villa.
