In Los Angeles, Ed and his brother Onie established and operated a clothing shop, a cleaners, and Granville and Granville Steak House, a restaurant that attracted many luminaries from Hollywood. These ventures were interrupted when Ed was called back into service during the Korean War; he served at the rank of first lieutenant at Nahbollenbach Quartermaster Depot in Germany for three and a half years. When discharged again from the service, Ed and his brother Onie established Granville and Granville Real Estate Company and Quality Escrow Company, businesses operated by the brothers for over 40 years.
