Fairfield Recorder - Friday, October 15, 1926 edition LUMBER MAN KILLED NEAR OAKWOOD G. L. Green, lumber man and owner of several saw mills, near this place was shot and fatally injured about 12:00 Wednesday. According to reports, Mr. Green was sleeping in a car when the shooting occurred about three miles east of town and the assassin was firing at another man hitting Mr. Green in the back and again in the head. Mrs. Green and little daughter were visiting relatives in Arkansas and were notified of this tragedy at once. She immediately wired reliable people to send the remains to her and the body was sent on train Nov. 4, Wednesday night. Oakwood Oracle
