Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Teague Chronicle January 17, 2008 edition MELVINA BRACKENS GREEN Funeral services for Melvina Brackens Green were held on Saturday, January 5, 2008, at True Vine DOXA Church in Fairfield, Texas. Minister Carlos Daniels officiated at the services and Minister Michael Daniels served as Eulogist. Interment was at Fairfield Baptist Cemetery in Fairfield. Mrs. Green was born on June 2, 1945 in Fairfield, Texas to Johnny Jefferson and Eselmer Brackens. She passed away on December 30, 2007, at ETMC in Tyler, Texas. Melvina attended and received her education at Dogan School graduating in 1964. She married Raymond Green on December 20, 1984. Melvina worked as a cook for several years then retired and became a homemaker. Mrs. Green is survived by her husband Raymond green of Fairfield, her father Johnny Jefferson of Tyler, Texas, her sons Gary Small Brackens of Corsicana, Rodney Small Brackens and wife Dana of Fairfield, her stepsons Donald Green, Raymond Green, Jr., both of Fairfield, Texas. Also surviving Mrs. Green are her adoptive sons Eddie Wayne Ticken of Canton, Texas and Auther Wayne McAdam of Corsicana, Texas, her daughter Nina Green of Fairfield, her brothers Donald Brackens and wife Yvonne of Dallas, Edward Lee Brackens of Fort Worth, David Brackens and wife Linda, Cleo Brackens both of Fairfield, her sisters Celestine Rodgers and husband Willie of Dallas, Annie Durham and husband Bobby and Vanessa Brackens both of Fairfield. Her special aunt Debra Brackens of Fairfield, her daughters-in-law Barbara Brackens Small, Renea Brackens Small, Michele Brackens Small and Dana Brackens Small, 12 Grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and friends also survive Mrs. Green. She was preceded in death by her mother Eselmer Brackens, her sister Carol Sue Harrison, her brothers Wendell and Eddie Brackens and her grandson Ta’Corian Green. Pallbearers for Mrs. Green were David Brackens, Jr., Robert Shed, Willie Earl McElroy, Louis Cunningham, Randolph Daniels and Tracy Garrett. Honorary pallbearers were Donald Brackens, Edward L. Brackens, David Brackens, Cleo Brackens, Eddie Wayne Tricken, Bobby Durham, Donald Coreen and Auther Wayne McAdam. Emanuel Funeral Home of Teague was in charge of the arrangements.
