Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Teague Chronicle January 10, 2008 edition KATHRYN GRIFFITH Graveside services for Mrs. Kathryn Griffith, 81, were held on Friday, January 4, 2008, at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco. Bro. Jimmy Petty officiated. Mrs. Griffith passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia. She was born in Waxahachie, Texas, but grew up in Waco and attended Waco High School. She married Wendell W. Griffith on May 5, 1946, and they moved to Teague in 1953. They resided in Teague for twenty years until moving to Ft. Worth in 1973. She and her husband returned to Teague (Cotton Gin area) in 1986. She loved to go fishing and to raise a garden. Mrs. Griffith was a member of the First Baptist Church in Teague. She is survived by her husband of over 61 years, Wendell W. Griffith of Cotton Gin; her son Mike Griffith and wife Karlene of Teague; her daughter Pam Jordan and husband S.B. of Teague; her granddaughters April Hedrick and husband Warren of Cotton Gin, Brandi Kerr and husband Jason of Teague and Jaime Hardy and husband Tim of Bryan; her grandsons Aaron Griffith and wife Staci of Teague and Slade Jordan and Deb Doane of Waco; her great grandchildren Kendall Griffith, Kassidy Griffith, Reid Krenek, Lukas Hardy and Jakob Hardy; her brother John Fletcher Haynes and wife Aletha of Tularosa, New Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by her parents John Haynes and Mamie Brown. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Teague Over Fifty-Five Center, 511 Main Street, Teague, Texas, 75860. Mrs. Griffith was born in Waxahacie to parents John Haynes and Mamie Brown. She was raised in Waco where she attended Waco high school and on May 5, 1946 she married Wendell W. Griffith. In 1953 the couple moved to Teague where they lived for twenty years before moving to Fort Worth. In 1986 Mrs. Griffith and her husband moved to Cotton Gin and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Teague. Mrs. Griffith is survived by husband Wendell W.
