W. Hamilton Held Wednesday Rev. J. W. Hamilton, age 87 years, 4 months and 5 days, died at the City, Hospital in Teague Monday, May 13, at 8:00 p. m. Rev Hamilton was born in Tennessee on January 8, 1859. At an early age he began teaching and taught for 16 years. He was married to Miss Nancy Jane Thompson nearly 50 years ago. He entered the ministry in 1913 as a Missionary Baptist minister. Rev. Hamilton was near Normangee holding a home coming service in the church where he was pastor for 20 years, when taken sick. He was then brought to Teague. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 15, at 4:00 p. m. in the Fairfield cemetery, with Rev. H. L. McKissack officiating. Burial was in the Fairfield cemetery, under the direction of Ham Bros. Funeral Home. Survivors besides his wife two daughters and two sons: C. J. Robertson Sr., Fairfield; Mrs. M. D. Bloxom Sr., Teague; Wm. L. Hamilton, Houston; Lewis M. Hamilton, Freeport. Also surviving him are ten grand-children and five great grand- children. Pallbearers were: C. J. Robertson, Dan Bloxom, Leroy Weaver, and Eugene Ganntt.
