Graveside service will be 3 p.m. today at Alley King Cemetery in Seven Points. Mr. Hammonds was born June 2, 1968, in Ennis. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hammonds; and stepdaughter, Cynthia Faye McPherson. Survivors include his mother, Margie D. Hammonds of Ennis; wife, Elizabeth Faye Martin Hammonds of Streetman; stepdaughters, Kati Gardner and Beth McPherson; stepsons, Robert McPherson and Philip McPherson, both of Streetman; brother, Ron Hammonds of Fairfield, Randy Hamonds and Johnny Kelsey, both of Dallas; sister, Brenda Kelsey of Austin; granddaughter, Zadie McPherson; grandson, Bobby Landon Lomax of Streetman; nieces, Athena Kelsey, Elizabeth Kelsey and Madeline Hammonds; nephew, Steven Kelsey; and other relatives and friends. Smith Parlor for Funerals. ========================================================== Corsicana Daily Sun January 08, 2007 Man struck, killed on I-45 A Streetman man was struck and killed while trying to cross Interstate 45 south of Corsicana Sunday morning. Bobby Wayne Hammonds, age unknown, was pronounced dead at 6:50 a.m. by Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Connie Mayfield, according to a report from the Corsicana office of the Texas Department of Public Safety. A 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Dallas resident Macneary Jones Siner, 33, struck Hammonds in the southbound lane of I-45 near the 222 milemarker. (State Highway 31 is at the 231 milemarker.) There were two passengers in the vehicle, and all three were uninjured, according to the report. The Tahoe was traveling next to a tractor trailer rig in the inside lane, when Hammonds attempted to cross west to east, or from the outside lane to the inside lane, the report stated. Trooper Ryan Etzler led the investigation, assisted by DPS Sgt. Kenneth Authier. Also assisting at the scene were members of the Navarro County Sheriff’s Department, Corsicana Fire Department and volunteer firefighters from Angus and Streetman.
