Freestone County, Texas Obituaries HAZEL HANCOCK 2011-06-02 / Obituaries Funeral services were held Saturday at First United Methodist Church of Teague for Hazel Hancock, 90, who died May 26 at her home in Teague. Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery of Teague. Mrs. Hancock was born to Jack and Era Lee Duran in Pine Hill where she was raised. On August 26, 1938, she married her husband of 65 years, Bill Hancock. Mrs. Hancock worked at Teague City Hall for several years before spending almost 30 years with First National Bank of Teague from which she retired as vice president. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Teague for more than 60 years. Mrs. Hancock was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Carolyn Shields, brothers Aubrey Duran, Charlie Duran and Bill Duran and sister Mertie Nell Duran. She is survived by sons John Hancock of Dallas and David Hancock of Teague; son-in-law Carl Shields and wife Jean of Teague; Grandsons Mark Shields and wife Donna of Waco, Monte Shields and wife Kristie of Brenham and Spencer Hancock of Athens; Granddaughters Tracy Chatham and husband Curtis of Teague and Carla Dopslauf and husband DeWayne of Eagle Lake; Great- grandchildren Ashlee Shields, Caitlin Chatham, Courtney Chatham, Danielle Dopslauf, Reagan Dopslauf, Charlee Dopslauf, Rylee Shields, Cayden Shields, Baylee Shields and Fallon Cheek; brothers Buster Duran of Henderson and Jack Duran and wife Melba of Lufkin; Sisters Doris Badunah of Fort Worth and Betty Johnson of Longview; Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Officiating services was the Reverend Alan VanHooser. Making arrangements was Bowers Funeral Home of Teague.
