Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Neil Francis Hansel Neil Francis Hansel, 60, of Streetman passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2001 at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lakeside United Methodist Church in St. Elmo with the Rev. Tom Connally and the Rev. Mitzi George officiating. Mr. Hansel was born March 5, 1941 in Garber, Iowa and attended school in Colesburg, Iowa. He was a retired agriculture supervisor. He worked for TDCJ for 20 years and also LeFure Corporation in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for many years. Mr. Hansel served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963. He was a member of Southern Oaks Property Owners Association and Lakeside United Methodist Church in St. Elmo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Dale Hansel and Majorie Waterman Hansel; and brother, Roger Hansel. Mr. Hansel is survived by his wife, Joyce Ellen Hansel of Streetman; children, Heath William Hansel and wife Gina and Shannon Dale Hansel, all of Palestine; grandchildren, Morgan Kristene Hansel and Amanda Mae Hansel of Palestine; brother, Lester Hansel of Guttenburg, Iowa; and sisters, Shirley Shelton of West Lake, Iowa, Beverly Joan Rankin of Marshalltown, Iowa, Karen Becicka and Sandra Brown, both of Walford, Iowa, and patsy Stone of Mt.
