Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Jeanette Marie (Copeland) Harrigan Jeanette Marie Harrigan, 85, of Fairfield, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in Fairfield. Celebration of Life services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the home of Randall and Kimberlie Graham in Fairfield. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gordon Harrigan and two brothers, Charles and John Copeland. Mrs. Harrigan was born March 2, 1929 in Bay City, Texas to parents Robert John and Edna Sullivan Copeland. She was a resident of Fairfield for over 30 years and retired from Con-Tel Telephone Company where she was a telephone operator. She was an avid reader and was crazy about cats. In Fairfield she was known as the "Cat Lady" and many people left unwanted cats and kittens in her yard, which she either adopted or found homes for. Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Skip Harrigan and wife Kim of Bayou Vista, Texas; Rob Harrigan of Port Lavaca, Texas; seven grandchildren, Libby, Katie, Rebecca, Matt, Robbie, Tammy and Garth along with six great-grandchildren, Carson, Zachary, Saige, Salvador, Jade and Haiden. We must recognize her honorary grand-daughter, Kimberlie Graham, her husband Randall and their 5 children David, Danyale, Joshua, Kaytlin, and Kristian, who loved her as their own and gave selflessly to Jeanette, which enabled her to stay in Fairfield, the city she loved, once her health deteriorated.
