Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper May 28, 2009 Lloyd "Sonny" Harris, Jr. Graveside services were held Saturday for Lloyd "Sonny" Harris, Jr., 83, of Granbury who died Wednesday, May 20, at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. Mr. Harris served as a Marine in Guam during World War II. In the early, 1960'S, he owned and operated J&L Steakhouse in Teague. Mr. Harris laid pipeline for most of his life, but spent his free time traveling to Central America and Mexico. Services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, at Union Cemetery near Freestone with U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard. Officiating were Bill Neckar and Byron Bavousett. Mr. Harris is survived by his sons, John Ballard and wife Michelle of Henderson, Richard Lloyd Harris of Henderson, and Troy Harris and wife Margaret of Granbury; grandchildren, Jesse Ballard, Elecia Ballard, Garrett Ballard, Jennifer Wright Corley, Anna Wright, Richard Wright, Chelsea Harris, and Haley Harris; six great-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Joyce Harris of Henderson; and sisters, Louise Hayse of Granbury, and Bennie Barry and husband Don of Jacksboro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Jessie May Harris; brothers, Raymond Harris, J.V. McClinton, and Jack McClinton; and sister, Wyonia Harris. Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of Bowers Funeral Home of Teague.
