Freestone County, Texas Obituaries (Nov. 11, 1917 - Jan. 24, 2003) Carl F. “Ned” Harrison Services for Carl F. “Ned” Harrison, 85, of Fairfield, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Round Prairie Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Ridge officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery under the direction of Capps Memorial Chapel. Mr. Harrison died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, in Fairfield. He was born Nov. 11, 1917 in Dew to Buck and Emma Harrison. Mr. Harrison was a lifetime resident of Freestone County. He was a plumber and a member and past commander of the Fairfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5782; member of the Palestine Disable American Veterans; and a member of the American Legion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Round Prairie Baptist Church in Fairfield. He was preceded in death by his brother, Finis Harrison; and two grandchildren, Carl Wayne Shamblin and Cynthia Shamblin. Mr. Harrison is survived by his wife, Christine Ivy Harrison of Fairfield; daughters, Sarah Shamblin of Fairfield and Emma Grace Mooney of Alvin; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be A.C. Longino, Roy Casey Jr., Lindy Nichols, Fred Alpers, Pervis Black and Sid Lott Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh Reed Jr., Aubrey Childs, Randall Whitaker, Lane Stripling and members of the Round Prairie Sunday School Class.
