Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Mr. R. J. Hartless Funeral services for Mr. R. J. Hartless, age 83, were held on Monday, November 12, 2012, at 10:00a.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Steve Cowart officiated. Interment followed the services at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Visitation was held on Sunday with the family present from 2:00p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers at the service are: Rondal Mullenax, Gondal Mullenax, Jerry Maggard, Carl Neal, David Ferguson, and Craig Oakes. Honorary pallbearers are: Art Tolar, Roger Levels, Rayford Dunlap, Tom Bates, Joe Millender, Steve Oliver, and Gene Scott. Mr. Hartless passed away on Friday, November 9, 2012, at Providence Hospital in Waco. R. J. Hartless was born on October 11, 1929, in Crockett, TX to Reamous & Viola (Flowers) Hartless. He attended Trinity High School and later married Nona Faye Baker in Groveton, TX in 1950, and shared over sixty two years together. Mr. Hartless worked for BNSF Railroad in Teague as a brakeman and conductor, and served as yard master, for over thirty eight years. In his leisure time, Mr. Hartless enjoyed fishing and hunting with his many friends. He is survived by his wife, Nona Hartless; two daughters, Marcia Dunnahoe & husband Charles and Dianne McAlpine & husband Bob; two sons, Marvin Ray Hartless & wife Cathy, and Cochran Martin & partner Joe Roark; nine grandchildren; twenty- five great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Hartless & wife Sharon of Wells, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Hartless was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Elma Rhea Foote and Hazel Henderson.
