Joe C. Hartley 
(February 9, 1932 - October 1, 2006) 

Funeral services for Mr. Joe C. Hartley were held Wednesday, October 4, 2006 
at 2:00 p.m. at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Billy Bob Evans 
officiated. Interment followed the service at Seale-Round Prairie Cemetery in
Limestone County. Serving as pallbearers were, Andy Hartley, Brandon Hartley, 
Joseph Hartley, Bill Hunt, Bobby Carlisle, and Dale Sanders. Mr. Hartley 
passed away Sunday, October 1, 2006 at his home in Pasadena, Texas. He was 
born and raised in Teague. He graduated from Teague High School in the class of
1949. Joe enjoyed playing football and being active in FFA during his days at 
T.H.S. He worked for a number a years for the Rock Island and Burlington 
Northern Railroad as a brakeman and retired from the Port Terminal Railroad in
Houston. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Teague. He married his
high school sweetheart and is survived by his wife of over fifty-two years, 
Shirley Petty Hartley of Pasadena; one son, Andy Hartley & wife Salma of 
LaPorte; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Joseph, & Brandi Hartley all of Santa 
Fe, Tx and Nadia, Andrew, James, & Andrea Hartley all of LaPorte; one daughter-
in-law, Sherri Hartley Campbell of Santa Fe, Tx; two sisters, Marie McSpadden 
& husband Billy and Jane Traynham all of Teague; numerous nieces, nephews, 
other relatives & friends. Mr. Hartley is preceded in death by his daughter, 
JoLynn Hartley and two sons, Craig Hartley and David Hartley.

Joe C. Hartley

Funeral services were held Wednesday in Teague for Joe C. Hartley, who died 
Sunday, Oct. 1 at his home in Pasadena.

Mr. Hartley was born and raised in Teague, graduating from Teague high school 
in 1949. He enjoyed playing football and being active in FFA during his days 
at THS. He worked for a number of years for the Rock Island - Burlington 
Northern Railroad as a brakeman and retired from the Port Terminal Railroad
in Houston. he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Teague.

He married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Petty Hartley, who survives him
as his wife of 52 years.

Services were conducted at 2 p.m. at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel, with 
Bro. Billy Bob Evans officiating.

Burial was at Seale-Round Prairie Cemetery in Limestone county. Pallbearers 
were Andy Hartley, Brandon Hartley, Joseph Hartley, Bill Hunt, Bobby Carlisle
and Dale Sanders.

Mr. Hartley is survived by his wife; one son, Andy Hartley and wife Salma of 
LaPorte; six grandchildren, Brandon, Joseph and Brandi Hartley, all of Santa
Fe, Texas; and Nadia, Andrew, James and Andrea Hartley, all of LaPorte; One 
daughter-in-law, Sherri Hartley Campbell of Santa Fe, Texas; two sisters, 
Marie McSpadden and husband Billy, and Jane Traynham , all of Teague; and 
numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, JoLynn Hartley; and two sons, Craig 
Hartley and David Hartley.

Arrangements were made by Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.
