Freestone County, Texas Obituaries [This is William Whitfield Hayden (Sep. 27, 1875-Jan. 31, 1915) ] Teague Chronicle newspaper - Feb 12, 1915 issue Death of W. W. Hayden On the morning of Jan. 31, at 2:00 o'clock W. W. Hayden departed this life. He was born at Leona, Leon County, Texas, Sept. 27, 1875. Seven and one-half years ago he was married to Miss Ida Yarbrough of Houston, Texas. He is survived by his wife and two children. Shortly after he was married he moved to Teague where he was employed as trainman on the T. & B. V. railroad which position he held until his last illness. He had been sick four months before he died. His suffering was intense and exhausting, at times seemingly almost beyond endurance. Mr. Hayden was not a member of any church but gave evidence of being a saved man. He was popular with his fellows, being a happy, big hearted, jovial fellow. He loved his family and provided well for them. In his intense suffering many times he cried for "rest, rest". Truly now he has rest. We offer deepest condolence to the bereaved family, but "Not for the dead in Christ we weep, Their sorrows now are o'er; The sea is calm, the tempest past, On that eternal shore. Their peace is sealed, their rest is sure Within that better home; Awhile we weep and linger here, Then follow to the tomb."
