Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Mexia Daily News - Nov. 12, 2003 edition Frankie Lee Heggar TEMPLE - Funeral services for Frankie Lee Heggar, 80, of Temple, will be held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock in Branford/Dawson Funeral Home Chapel of Temple. Officiating will be the Rev. Johnny Jones. Burial will be in Mount Zion Garden of Memories Cemetery-Temple. Mr. Heggar, who died Friday, Nov. 7, in a Temple hospital, was born in Freestone County to Isadore and Annie Rae Livingston Heggar. He graduated from Mexia High School, served in the U.S. Army, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. He also earned the Victory Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Medal, and was in the Army of Occupation in Japan. A member of DAV Chapter 37, Mr. Heggar worked for Connally Air Force Base in Waco for 12 years, and at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio for 18 years. He was married to Maxine Minor on Oct. 1, 1977. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marie Knaff; by his parents; by a brother, Herbert Heggar, and by a sister, Carrie Tatum. Visitation is scheduled for Friday afternoon from 1 until 6 o'clock at the funeral home. Surviving are his wife, Maxine Heggar of Temple; two daughters, Frankie R. Mackey of Coppell and Debra Genwright of Mesquite; four sons, James R. Heggar and Kenneth W. Heggar, both of Mexia, Rickey L. Heggar of Balch Springs and Dewayne Heggar of Dallas; five step-daughters, Julie Berry, Mary Wallace and Joyce Johnson, all of Dallas, Stella J. Bagley of Como and Carolyn Johnson of Temple; two sisters, Louise Brown of Houston and Clarissa Simmons of Wichita Falls; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
