RICHARD ERNEST HENSON


A memorial service for Richard Ernest Henson was held on Saturday, September 8, 
2007. Brother Steve Cowart conducted the private service held at Eighth Avenue 
Baptist Church in Teague, Texas. Richard passed away on September 5, 2007, after
a long illness.

Richard was born in Teague, Texas on June 15, 1953. He grew up in Teague and 
graduated from Teague High School in 1971. Richard attended Sam Houston State
University in Huntsville, Texas where he earned both a Bachelors degree and a 
Masters degree. He became a high school English teacher, first in Rockdale, 
Texas where he taught for seven years and then in Huffman, Texas, near Houston,
where he taught for twenty-three years. When he retired in 2003, he returned to
Teague. Richard was a member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church.

Richard is survived by his mother Janelle Henson and his two brothers and their
wives, Kelly and Valerie Henson of Teague and David and Debbie Henson of Rowlett.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father Ross Henson and his grandmother Georgia 
Cline.
